I wish...
Well, it's bad luck to actually tell someone what you wish, but I suppose that's the price you have to pay. I, being superstitious about stupid things, will not tell what I wish until it comes true. And so far, none of my wishes have been granted.

I spent $50 on a CD-MP3 player today because I thought I had lost mine and couldn't find it anywhere. I get home and the first thing I spy is the stupid "lost" diskman. Fuckers. Perhaps I'll go out and buy a new 208 disk CD binder and ALL of my CDs that go in in, so that will turn up somewhere too.

Oh, by the way. If you find a huge ass CD binder that happens to belong to me (the first page of CDs should be 3 Doors Down, 10 Things I Hate About You soundtrack, ABBA and Aerosmith) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me where it is. I'm about to flip a fucking lid.

Tonight would be better if Patty came to watch Office Space with me. :-(

I've had to babysit all weekend. Oy, tiring. I'm definitely the greatest aunt ever though. We've gone shopping both Saturday and today, we went out for dinner on Thursday, ordered in Saturday, went out to lunch Saturday and today. I spent 2 hours in a Toys R Us yesterday. Someone canonize me, I deserve saint-hood.

*sigh* Patty should come keep me company. Fucker.

It's too late. Past my bedtime.
This morning I had a hell of a time waking up. Got out of bed 25 minutes late. But still managed to leave 15 minutes early (I got ready in 20 minutes this morning) so I could stop at Starbucks for the Biggest Fucking Frappuccino Ever™. It was amazing. The guy next to me in line said "whoa" upon seeing the size of my Venti Carmel Frap. Rock on, dude.

Then there was the ticket I got for a rolling stop. So not worth the fucking $75. EHHHHHH!

BUT!! Zoe and I booked our flight and hotel for Seattle! It's official!!! We leave Sunday, August 10th and come back on Friday the 15th. 5 nights, and about 4 and a half days when you weigh it all out. It'll be awesome. The only snag so far (other than the $470 price tag...which for 5 nights and round trip airfare isn't so bad, I guess) is that we are 20 minutes away from downtown Seattle. But I've been checking on public transportation and it looks like we can definitely bus it. Yay for Sound Transit.

I wish I weren't so broke. Some people take trips to Europe and week long cruises in tropic waters. This will be the longest vacation I've been on since I was 5. And the farthest...assuming that it's farther than LA. School trips are great, but I have this need to vacation. *sigh* I wish I could go anywhere at anytime.

I should get to bed. It's late.

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong.
So much happened this weekend, that I can hardly keep up with myself.

First off, Friday night there was the Goo Goo Dolls and Bon Jovi concert. It was awesome. Way fun. Lawn at Tweeter with a bunch of 30-ish year olds.

Then the concert ended and Allie and I drove to St. Louis. Why? Why not! They have an arch!

The impromptu road trip was really awesome and one of the most memorable things that I think I've done with the useless adolescence. We got there around 4:30 in the morning and had a hell of a time finding a hotel room. They also thought we were nuts for wanting a room for 6 hours. $90 later, we slept for our quality 6 hours, then strode around the city for a couple. We got lunch, checked out the arch. I took about 60 pictures. Then we started the long drive home.

We were back in town by 7pm, so the whole of our road trip lasted about 19 hours. But it was amazing.

Then Sunday I bought my digital camera. Canon PowerShot Elph S230. Awesome. I adore it. And I was all geeky and ordering stuff from newegg.com to go with it. A 256MB Compact Flash card, and an accessory pack that comes with a flash card reader and extra battery. I also bought my sister a $50 amazon.com gift card for letting me abduct her camera for so long.

Today, other than being Bastille Day, was the longest day of work ever. It wasn't really bad, per se...just long. I was so tired. And so was Leslie and everyone else in our room. Except Bobby, who was popping No-Doz. And then afterward I went to Cingular for an HOUR only to find out that while I can get a new phone with my plan...neither of the two I liked were in stock. I'll be calling back "Steve" on Thursday to see if there's any more luck.

And with that, I'm spent. I'm 40 pages away from the end of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix so I may as well finish.

Happy 227th Year of Freedom
This week has been pretty busy, but in a very fun way.

Work is fun. I love the kids. I think it's the easiest job ever, but I might just have the right skills for it. And I'm getting a nice tan. Because I'm outside all day, every day. Even when it's Ozone Action Day and about 97 degrees, humid, with NO WIND. Yeah, it sucked, but the kids love me, and I work with Candace and some other kick-ass counselors.

Monday night I took in my first Taste of Chicago with Melissa, Rebecca, Kendall, Janet, Lizzie and Candace. It was awesome! We each put in $20 and got about 250 tickets and split EVERYTHING we ate. So we got to try a lot of different stuff without getting too full. And walking to and from the train station helped to make us feel like we wouldn't explode.

Tuesday night was Charlie's Angels night, where Candace, Lindsay, and I (the Angels) stole Charlie (Charlie) and brought with a few extras (Katy, Zoe and Allie) to see Full Throttle. It wasn't a "good" movie by any stretch, but I liked it a lot. It was amusing.

Wednesday night, I was ditched while making plans with people, so Peter and I decided to go to the White Stripes concert. No, we didn't have tickets. Yes, we left at 7...the concert started at 7:30. Traffic was slow but steady and we risked parking in a $20 lot before we knew if we'd have tickets or not. Then ended up being $45 from a scalper (who originally wanted $60 each for tickets that cost $30 to begin with). So we paid the money and went in. We ended it with a trip to Denny's for dinner at 11:30.

Thursday was the Fireworks, and I decided to host the meeting spot for everyone and we could walk from there. But I had errands to run (to the bank, to my sister's apartment, to Jamba Juice) and ended up getting to my house at the time I told everyone to meet. So I was kinda running late. I changed quickly, we packed the wagon, and by 6:15 we started toward the high school. It was nice...there were about 25 of us, but I stuck around with Lindsay, Jason, Kay and Candace for most of the night. Then there was a small after-party at my house before people went home early.

Whew. It's been an action-packed week. And now I'm taking solace in the fact that I'm not working and it's Friday. Time off is nice. Tonight is a party/sleepover at Allie's. Good times.
